Cackling Goose--1 (N end with Canadas as usual). Continues
Western Grebe--6. Continue
Rather surprisingly, the Greater Yellowlegs is the first I've ever seen at Virginia Lake (#153 on my life list for that place). It was foraging along the water's edge at the N end where a large area of muddy lake bottom has been exposed for quite some time now.
The immature Greater White-fronted Goose continues at Rancho San Rafael. As before, it was among the big flocks of Canadas on the lawn W of Peavine Pond.
I had a FOS Hermit Thrush in my yard this afternoon. It was along the paved path leading to the front door & must have come in with the bad weather last night.
