Just a quick report that I was out at Pyramid Lake yesterday and spotted a couple of beautiful male WOOD DUCKS on the lake by the Willows. I was surprised to see them, but I suppose there is a source of fresh water into the lake there. The ranch above the willows was actively watering the fields. The OSPREY that Bob Goodman always likes to point out to me somewhere along the shoreline was spotted at Sutcliffe diving for fish.
Other birds seen:
American white pelican
Canyon wren (heard only)
Not a bird, but still neat to see was a rather large fish that I suppose was a Lahontan cutthroat trout swimming in the shallows by Popcorn Rock.
