I birded Oxbow park in Reno mid-morning. New for me this year were several
singing Black-headed Grosbeaks, a Black-chinned Hummingbird, and a Yellow
Warbler. I heard a couple of other species of warblers too, one probably a
Macgillivray's, but never saw them. Didn't see any flycatchers.
A somewhat unusual sighting was a Western Pond Turtle in the pond, the
first one I've ever seen at Oxbow (but I know that Fred Petersen has seen
