After the Audubon talk on the Las Vegas Wash I decided it was time to spend
more time down there and I was not disappointed. Yesterday I had a
Hammond's Flycatcher. I went back today and had a glimpse of another Empid
which I assumed was the Hammond's agian. I did not see it well enough nor
did my photo come out very well for me to feel comfortable calling it.
Other birds in the area were a single Turkey Vulture flying from east to
west over the wash near the Pabco Weir and a House Wren in the same area as
the Empid (cottonwoods to the west of the Pabco Weir).
On another note there are a few birds who have started to sing:
The Ruby-crowned Kinglets have been chasing each other with their ruby
crowns up for the last few weeks.
