My enternet provider had difficulities yesterday, so I was unable to post birds I saw on Sunday.
I started birding on February 9th, 2014 from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. It was a fantastic day to bird!
The Vermillion Flycatcher, and the White-winged Dove were a delight to see. In the agricultural field were a Great Blue Heron, a Sandhill Crane and a Tundra Swan all within a short distance of each other. I sat and watched them. A conference of some kind is going on with these three species. I have seen the three here before and they always seen intent on what the other species is doing. The Western Meadowlark, was all by himself. He was singing, which brought tears to my eyes. Such a beautiful sound. I traveled 44 miles today within Pahrump, checking all the possible spots for birds to report. 62 species are being reported. The Winged-Dove, was heard. Their is no mistaking their sound from the Eurasian Collared Dove and the Mourning Dove. The list of birds seen on February 9th, 2014, are listed below.
Great Blue Heron
Black-crowned Night Heron
Rock Pigeon (Feral Pigeon)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Audubon's)
Dark-eyed Junco ( 5 Oregon and two Slate-colored)
