I stopped by Virginia Lake (Reno) for a few minutes today, and admired the rakish Double-crested Cormorant, waiting on the island for "Mrs. Right". While there, I noticed a Red-tailed Hawk circling over head. Instantly, 4 American Crows took off after the hawk, and within 30 seconds, their calls brought at least 54 other crows in on the attack. Poor hawk--he wisely choose to get, while the getting was good!
