September 28, 2012 - Parker Ranch, north of Beatty, Nye County.
Warblers are increasing, but nothing unusual: Yellow-rumped warbler, Orange-crowned warbler, Wilson's warbler, Common yellowthroat. Also Warbling vireo.
Other new arrivals this week: American pipit, American robin, Lesser goldfinch, Pine siskin, Ruby-crowned kinglet Killdeer.
Winter regulars here for the last few weeks: Red-shafted Northern flicker, Bewick's wren, White-crowned sparrow, Song sparrow.
We have had 1-2 Red-breasted nuthatches daily for the past week, nothing out of the ordinary as I see them every year around this time.
Also present are the regular residents: Mourning dove, Eurasian collared dove, Gambel's quail, Red-winged blackbird, Great-horned owl, American kestrel, Common raven.
Many Brown-headed cowbirds are migrating through, also some Barn swallows and other swallows I could not get a good look at.
