This morning there were two juvenile Red-shouldered Hawks at Rancho San Rafael Park in Reno. I watched them hunting from the fence posts and trees at the edge of the old Great Basin Adventure Park by Herman's Pond. By the time I got around inside the GBAP one had caught breakfast and was eating it on a nesting platform at the edge of the pond, with an adult Cooper's Hawk watching. I managed to get a few pictures of one before it flew deeper into the park, chased by the Cooper's.
