We found a couple of good birds at Miller's yesterday afternoon (9/22/12), one recently deceased, the other still alive but not very approachable so I wasn't able to photograph it.
The dead bird was a Summer Tanager, almost certainly the same individual recorded by Rose and Dennis earlier in the week. It hadn't been dead long and had probably died earlier in the morning or overnight.
The second was a Palm Warbler which fed on the lawn for a few minutes in the mid afternoon and then disappeared.
Also a very tame coyote which appeared out of nowhere while we were sitting at one of the picnic tables, strolled unconcernedly around the lawn for a few minutes and then wandered off back into the desert.
Rose, Dennis and Greg turned up late yesterday afternoon and stayed around until mid-morning today. They found a number of good birds which I'm sure they'll be reporting on in due course.
