I birded the west side north of Belleview Road this morning. I found the Franklin's Gull reported by Rob Lowry, but there was no sign of the Sabine's. As Rob reported the gull was moving up and down the Shoreline. The shorebird flocks also kept moving due to several falcons working the area. We got a nice look at a juvenile Peregrine. There werefFour Pectorals, two sanderlings, and quite few Least and Western. Didn't see any plovers other than Killdeer.
I was puzzled for a few seconds by a bird in a flock of Least Sandpipers, then realized it a Savannah Sparrow. Iv'e never seen one wading before.
