Rancho San Rafael, Reno, Washoe Co (9/12/12)
We birded RSR north of McCarran this morning. It was very quiet, the only "good" bird being an immature Red-shouldered Hawk moving from perch to perch in the riparian upstream of the footbridge. Otherwise, hardly a feather stirred: an American Kestrel, 6-8 mourning doves, a Western Scrub Jay, & a few shadowy shapes in the willows-- wrens or warblers probably--comprising the whole list.
