I just returned from spending a few hours scoping out the birds along the west shore of Washoe Lake. I started from the Bellevue Road exit and drove along the exposed shore north for about 2 miles. Birds observed were as follows:
Franklin's Gull-1 in a flock of California Gulls about 2 miles north of Bellevue Rd.
Baird's Sandpiper-2 about 1 mile north of Bellevue Rd.
Sanderling-2 about 1.5 miles north of Bellevue Rd.
Red-Necked Phalarope-150 or so
American White Pelican-4
Great Blue Heron-3
The Bellevue Road exit is off of Rte. 395 in Washoe Valley north of Carson City.
