Today at the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve we had a Least Tern in breeding plumage, the white forehead and yellow bill very obvious. The bird was first found by Preserve staff members Lupe and Tiffany. They found the bird at about 11 AM flying between ponds 4 and 8. I viewed the bird a bit later at about 12:30 and took photographs. We will be submitting a sightings report to the NBRC.
The Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve is located about 10 miles eas of the Las Vegas strip at 350 E. Galleria Dr., Henderson, 89015.
