This morning there was a flock of about 35 American White Pelicans at Virginia LAke in Reno.
When I got there they were all on the south and east sides of the island or in the water at the base of the rocks. Part the flock flew out into the middle of the lake and the Mute Swan immediately start swimming toward them with wings raised. When he got close they flew back to the island. Some of them then moved out to the south of the island and the swan again started pursuing them. When I left they were back on the island.
There were many swallows, mostly cliffs with a few Barns, and one Spotted Sandpiper. Nothing else out of the ordinary, and no passerine migrants.
