An afternoon visit to Floyd Lamb Park today produced an amazing variety of
eastern vagrants highlighted by a Blue-winged Warbler. The Blue-winged was
most often seen in the sycamores near bench 33. It had me chasing it in
circles trying to photo it and I managed just two photos. Other birds seen
included a Palm Warbler, a male Northern Parula, a male Chestnut-sided
Warbler, an Ovenbird, a male Black-and-white Warbler, an Indigo Bunting,
and a new Clay-colored Sparrow. There was also a late Red-naped Sapsucker
at the park. There were other parts of the park I didn't even get to, so
who knows what other birds were there.
Earlier in the morning I visited Wheeler Camp Springs and had a late
Nashville Warbler, and Spring Mountain Ranch had a continuing Ovenbird
along the Ash Grove loop trail.
I managed crappy photos of all the birds aside from the Black-and-white
