Late this morning there was a Stilt Sandpiper at Overton WMA associating
with some Wilson's Phalaropes. Not much else at the wildlife area aside
from the usual summering birds. A check at Floyd Lamb earlier in the
morning yielded usual number of migrants. Yesterday I was at Spring
Mountain Ranch and also had a nice fallout of migrants. There were over
100 Wilson's Warblers, 40 plus Townsend's Warblers along with a single
Hermit, 20 plus Yellows, 20 plus Western Tanagers, and several other
western migrants. Almost all the migrants were in the flowering mesquites.
