Took a walk around Virginia Lake this evening. There were seven Snowy Egrets on the island. As Fred Petersen reported, only two pairs were on nests. We could see an egg in one nest when the parent stood up.
There was also a Great Egret standing at the north end of the island, well away from the Snowys.
The Clark's Grebe was still there, but we didn't see any other grebes.
