After some dental work yesterday afternoon I was not up for a full birding
trip but did go out for an hour to the Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve this
Everything was pretty much the same list of birds as yesterday with a few
The Long-billed Dowitcher count on Pond 9 was up to 61 birds.
There were two Eurasian Collared Doves on a telephone pole outside the
Visitor's Center, pointed out to me by Christina, a staff member at the
3 American Avocets were present on Pond 9
1 Northern Mockingbird observed on Pond 2
2 Snowy Egrets on Pond 9
I did not see it but a visitor from Washington State saw a Hooded Oriole
male outside the Visitor's Center.
The same Warblers were about, in just about every area where there
are trees near the ponds.
