It would be really interesting to know if there are two Eurasian Wigeons
in the Reno area this winter. One has been seen at Hidden Valley Golf
Course (a bird which has probably been present for several winters) and
now one at Lemmon Valley. The Lemmon Valley bird has not been
documented to the NBRC, but this email is not a nag for documentation
(although the committee would certainly be happy to get documentation on
that bird.) What I am really interested in is whether both are the same
bird. I don't know if the Hidden Valley bird is still being seen. If
someone happens to be out at Lemmon Vally and sees the Eurasian Wigeon,
and has some more free time, it would be interesting to immediately take
a drive over to the Hidden Valley course and check the ponds visible
from the road to see if the "other" Eurasian Wigeon is present.
I tried shortly after Fred reported the Lemmon Valley bird, but did not
find it. And I'm not going to be back home for at least another week.
