This is a belated report of a productive bird walk at Cathedral State Park
on Sunday, with Mike Powell, the new ranger of the park. The highlight for
me was excellent views of both waterthrushes. Warblers also included
Northern Parula, Black-throated Blue and Green, Canada, Magnolia and Common
Yellowthroat. An odd sight was a Belted Kingfisher perched on a branch in
the middle of the forest. We found 44 species of birds in all.
