Dennis G., Rose S. and I birded Pyramid Lake and Fallon Area on Saturday
January 13, 2007.  Here are the Highlights:

 

Pyramid Lake

-Red-breasted Mergansers (3) off the Willow's in Thunderbolt Bay.

-Red-breasted Mergansers (1) south of Popcorn Rock.

-Horned Grebe (1) north of Popcorn Rock.

-Bald Eagle (1 adult) Delta Area.

-Short-eared Owl (1) Delta Area

 

Fallon Area

-Northern Shrike (1 imm.) just west of the intersection of St. Clair and
Allen Road.

-Lapland Longspurs (3) off Pasture Road opposite the white and green
trailer.

-White-tailed Kite (1) Pasture Road spot.

-Northern Shrike (1 adult) East side of Carson Lake

-Short-eared Owls (~5) East and North edges of Carson Lake.

-no longspurs were seen at the "usual" longspur spot at Carson Lake.
