Oxbox Nature Reserve, Reno, Washoe Co (Nov 21st, 2004)
Oxbow continues to produce new birds of prey. This morning's specimen was
an adult Bald Eagle on an overhanging branch halfway up a big cottonwood on
the far side of the river a little upstream of where I saw a Merlin a
couple of weeks ago & c. 50 yds downstream of the Osprey/Peregrine tree.
After I watched it for a minute or two, it flew off upstream.
I also had a glimpse of the Mink again this morning. It was foraging along
the edge of the river a little downstream of the big viewing platform
adjoining the parking lot.
