Bill and Beth Clark observed two pair of Sandhill's in the Carson Valley last year. Both had single chicks as I recall. They later saw three birds leave the valley together and assumed at least one of the chicks survived.
On the Eagles and Ag trip last month I had a pair of Sandhills south of those seen by Gary yesterday. There may be two pair back.
It would be great news if more than two pair are sited.
Watch for chicks
