Hi Nancy, et al.,
I don’t believe they’ve always bred at Tahoe, but I’ve heard assertions that they’ve been breeding in the Incline area for a decade of more. Now they can occasionally be found elsewhere along the North Shore mid-summer, and I’ve had them breed in the Glenshire neighborhood of Truckee. Orr and Moffitt, Wally Sumner, the South Tahoe Audubon Soc. checklist, all say there was no breeding as of the 1970s and early 1980s. I’m curious where on the NV side this house is, as I think solid documentation of confirmed nesting within the Tahoe basin is still lacking.
